MEMORIALIZING Governor Andrew M. Cuomo to proclaim
May 2018, as Children's Awareness Month in the State
of New York
WHEREAS, The children of today are the citizens and leaders of
tomorrow; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that the children
of the State of New York are its most precious resource and that, as
such, they merit the support, encouragement and protection of this State
and Nation; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and fully in accord with its
long-standing traditions, it is the intent of this Legislative Body to
memorialize Governor Andrew M. Cuomo to proclaim May 2018, as Children's
Awareness Month in New York State; and
WHEREAS, The designation of the month of May as Children's Awareness
Month is illustrative of this Legislative Body's commitment to fostering
opportunities and contributing to the quality of life of the youth of
this noble Empire State; and
WHEREAS, It is our moral obligation to recognize the needs of
children of this present generation, contributing to their health,
physical and educational development which grants them the opportunity
to help themselves achieve a better future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
memorialize Governor Andrew M. Cuomo to proclaim May 2018, as Children's
Awareness Month in the State of New York, recognizing the significance
of the role children of New York State play in shaping the future of our
State and Nation, our society, and our government; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to The Honorable Andrew M. Cuomo, Governor of the State of
New York.
