CONGRATULATING Martha Robles upon the occasion of
her retirement after many years of dedicated service
to Catholic Charities Community Services of Rockland

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge the
significant milestones in the distinguished careers of esteemed
residents of this noble Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Martha Robles upon the occasion of her retirement after
many years of dedicated service to Catholic Charities Community Services
of Rockland, to be celebrated with a Farewell Retirement Party on
Thursday, June 28, 2018, at the Nyack Seaport; and

WHEREAS, Martha Robles joined Catholic Charities Community Services
of Rockland as Executive Director in November of 2006, bringing an
extensive background in health care advocacy with many leading New York
institutions including the Association for the Help of Retarded Children
(AHRC), Bellevue Hospital Center and Lutheran Medical Center; she will
officially retire from this esteemed position on July 20, 2018; and

WHEREAS, With a Master's degree from New York University in Public
Health Administration, Martha Robles possesses executive leadership
skills particularly in the areas of operations and management with a
proven track record of program development, strategic planning, revenue
and profit growth; and

WHEREAS, Martha Robles is a resident of Rockland, New York, where
she gives of her time and energies to various committees, some of which
include the Hunger Alliance Committee, Haverstraw and Western Ramapo
Collaborative, and the Rockland County Immigration Coalition; and

WHEREAS, When not advocating for those in need, Martha Robles enjoys
many creative and recreational pastimes including wildlife and nature
photography, kayaking, and spending time with her family; and

WHEREAS, Martha Robles has been the proud recipient of numerous
awards and accolades, including the Liberty Bell Award from the Rockland
County Bar Association, the Advocate Award from the One2One Learning,
Inc. of Nyack, and the Women's Leadership Award from Camp Venture; and

WHEREAS, Furthermore, she received a Distinguished Service Award
during Hispanic/Latino Heritage Month from the Rockland County
Legislature, as well as the Virginia Atkins Beasley Lifetime Achievement
Award from Rockland County's branch of the NAACP; and

WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her three children and three
grandchildren, who have all shown her love and support and rejoice in
her many achievements; and

WHEREAS, For nearly 12 years, Martha Robles rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service to Catholic Charities Community

Services of Rockland, earning the admiration, esteem and affection of
her colleagues; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the occurrence of such a compassionate
blending of strength, leadership, intellect, and commitment as that
demonstrated by Martha Robles over a lifetime of sacrifice and
dedication to others; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Martha Robles upon the occasion of her retirement after
many years of dedicated service to Catholic Charities Community Services
of Rockland; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Martha Robles.
