HONORING Scott Ferguson upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the 2016 Outstanding
Service Award by the Schoharie County Chamber of
Commerce
WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve
the best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration
and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Scott Ferguson has given not only of his time and energies
but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Scott
Ferguson upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the 2016
Outstanding Service Award by the Schoharie County Chamber of Commerce,
to be celebrated at its Annual Banquet and Awards Ceremony on Friday,
March 31, 2017, at the Red Barn Clubhouse, Cobleskill, New York; and
WHEREAS, Scott Ferguson has been called upon to contribute his time
and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always
given of himself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, A resident of the Town of Root, Scott Ferguson received his
doctorate degree in executive leadership from St. John Fisher College;
he also holds a Global MBA from Duke University, and a bachelor of
science degree in industrial and labor relations from Cornell
University; and
WHEREAS, Scott Ferguson has 20 years of small business ownership
experience, as well as 20 years of corporate organizational development
and human resource management experience; and
WHEREAS, The owner of Upstate Professional Cleaning, Scott Ferguson
is also the founder, board member, and treasurer of Solar Farms, Inc., a
hydroponic farm; in addition, he is an assistant professor at SUNY
Cobleskill where he teaches a wide variety of business and management
courses; and
WHEREAS, Under the able leadership of Scott Ferguson, Upstate
Professional Cleaning is a member of the Schoharie County Chamber of
Commerce and the Chamber's Business Generators Group, which is focused
on keeping and growing business in Schoharie County; and
WHEREAS, Scott Ferguson has been a member of the Schoharie County
Chamber of Commerce since 2008, serving on its board since 2010; he also
served as president from 2012 to 2016, and is on the Economic
Advancement Committee; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Scott Ferguson has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, Carrie, and their
eight children, as well as seven grandchildren, all of whom feel
privileged to be a part of his life and rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Scott Ferguson has displayed
throughout his life; and
WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Scott Ferguson, that future generations may know and appreciate his
admirable character, his many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which he is held by his peers; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Scott Ferguson upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of the 2016 Outstanding Service Award by the Schoharie County Chamber of
Commerce; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Scott Ferguson.
