Assembly Resolution No. 216

COMMENDING the Bull's Head Inn upon the occasion
of its designation as the 2016 New Business of the
Year by the Schoharie County Chamber of Commerce
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to take note of
and publicly recognize those businesses within the State of New York
which have positively impacted their communities; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend the Bull's Head Inn upon the occasion of its designation as the
2016 New Business of the Year by the Schoharie County Chamber of
Commerce, to be celebrated at its Annual Banquet and Awards Ceremony on
Friday, March 31, 2017, at the Red Barn Clubhouse, Cobleskill, New York;
and
WHEREAS, Established in 1802, the Bull's Head Inn is the oldest and
one of the most significant landmarks in the heart of the Village of
Cobleskill, New York; and
WHEREAS, Under the able leadership of Chris Guldner and Mary
Sagendorf, the Bull's Head Inn welcomes and delights its guests with
traditional American restaurant and pub dining in a historic,
comfortable and friendly community gathering place; and
WHEREAS, A 30 year veteran in operations management, employee
training and human resources management, Chris Guldner is steadfastly
dedicated to the reconstruction of the Inn's Cellar Tavern which is
nearing completion; and
WHEREAS, Chris Guldner serves on the board of directors of the
Schoharie County Chamber of Commerce and is chairman of the Tourism
Committee; and
WHEREAS, With more than three decades in the hospitality, tourism
and travel industries, Mary Sagendorf is responsible for the design of
the establishment's theme and character, as well as customer service and
quality of staff; and
WHEREAS, As a committed member of the community, Mary Sagendorf
plays an active role with the board of the Animal Shelter of Schoharie
Valley, and with Cobleskill Partnership Inc.; and
WHEREAS, Residents of Howes Cave, New York, Mary and Chris made the
decision to take over the Bull's Head Inn to restore a significant
historical landmark in Schoharie County, and to leverage it as a key
element of community revitalization; and
WHEREAS, Over its distinguished history, the Bull's Head Inn has
demonstrated continuous service to the residents and communities which
it serves; and
WHEREAS, The success of the Bull's Head Inn is in direct correlation
to the efforts of its staff, whose involvement is, and always has been,
characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and
an uncompromising standard of excellence in all endeavors on behalf of
the business and the community it serves; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents an opportunity for this
Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to the Bull's Head Inn;
and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body
acknowledges this exceptional business and its contributions to the
local and State economies, fully confident that it will continue to
enjoy the sparkling successes it has experienced thus far; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Bull's Head Inn upon the occasion of its designation as the
2016 New Business of the Year by the Schoharie County Chamber of
Commerce; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Chris Guldner and Mary Sagendorf, the Bull's Head Inn,
Cobleskill, New York.
