COMMEMORATING the 100th Anniversary of the
Cooperstown Chamber of Commerce on April 27, 2017

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize the
achievements of those organizations which substantially contribute to
the economic vitality of their communities and the entire Empire State;
and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Cooperstown Chamber of
Commerce, to be celebrated on Thursday, April 27, 2017, at the National
Baseball Hall of Fame; and

WHEREAS, Founded in 1917, the Cooperstown Chamber of Commerce is a
resource and catalyst to develop, promote, and support a diverse
business community in the Cooperstown area; and

WHEREAS, For the past century, this esteemed organization has served
to encourage and support new businesses and professional opportunities,
facilitate new partnerships, and promote the growth of current
businesses in the community; and

WHEREAS, Located in the heart of Cooperstown on Chestnut Street, the
Cooperstown Chamber of Commerce is comprised of members of the community
and local business leaders working together to support economic growth
and prosperity; and

WHEREAS, Through offering an exchange of ideas, as well as education
and advocacy on behalf of its members, the Cooperstown Chamber of
Commerce has fostered the growth and well-being of its membership, and
has enhanced the quality of life in the community; and

WHEREAS, A solid cornerstone of its region, the Cooperstown Chamber
of Commerce will continue to serve as the leading resource sought by the
public for information about tourism, local events, and business
education for many years to come; and

WHEREAS, Over its distinguished 100 year history, the Cooperstown
Chamber of Commerce has demonstrated continuous service to the residents
and communities which it serves; and

WHEREAS, The success of the Cooperstown Chamber of Commerce is in
direct correlation to the efforts of its members, whose involvement is,
and always has been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an
unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in
all endeavors on behalf of the organization and the community it serves;
and

WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents an opportunity for this
Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to the Cooperstown Chamber
of Commerce; and

WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body
acknowledges this exceptional organization and its contributions to the
local and State economies, fully confident it will continue to enjoy the
sparkling success it has experienced thus far; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Cooperstown Chamber of Commerce
on April 27, 2017; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Cooperstown Chamber of Commerce.
