HONORING Ricci Farms upon the occasion of its
designation as recipient of the Agriculture Award by
the Herkimer County Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that the
continuing welfare of the citizens of the State of New York is greatly
enriched and reliably served by the purposeful endeavors of individuals
who are committed to the preservation of our agriculture industry and
the enhancement of the appreciation of the distinctive features of our
surroundings; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Ricci Farms upon the occasion of its designation as recipient of the
Agriculture Award by the Herkimer County Chamber of Commerce, to be
celebrated at its 49th Annual Membership Meeting/Luncheon on Thursday,
April 13, 2017, at the Travelodge, Little Falls, New York; and

WHEREAS, The agricultural industry is part of the foundation upon
which our distinct American heritage is built; and

WHEREAS, New York State and the entire United States are dependent
on our agricultural industry for a variety of food products; and

WHEREAS, Established in 1950, Ricci Farms is a family-owned and
operated by Cate, Kevin and Daryl Ricci; since its inception, the farm
has grown tremendously to 300 head of Holstein cows and state-of-the-art
technology; and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to commend the
efforts of our farmers as they continue their hard work of cultivating
the land, facing the many challenges of nature such as flood, drought
and heat, in order to grow our food; and

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Ricci Farms upon the occasion of its designation as recipient of
the Agriculture Award by the Herkimer County Chamber of Commerce; and be
it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Ricci Farms.
