HONORING Jana Behe upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Capital District
YMCA President's Award on May 4, 2017

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare
of the community and its citizenry; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Jana Behe upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
Capital District YMCA President's Award to be celebrated on Thursday,
May 4, 2017, at the Albany Marriott, Albany, New York; and

WHEREAS, Jana Behe is being recognized with this auspicious award
for displaying a deep commitment to strengthening the community and for
sharing the YMCA's passion for helping those in need in every community
of the Capital District; and

WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to her
community, Jana Behe has volunteered with the Albany branch of the
Capital District YMCA for several years; and

WHEREAS, Jana Behe currently chairs the Albany Branch Advisory
Council, which provides input and direction with regard to the effective
operation of the branch in service to its constituents and pursuit of
the Association's goals and priorities; and

WHEREAS, Furthermore, Jana Behe is a staunch supporter of the YMCA's
efforts to help teens through its Black & Latino Achievers and the Youth
& Government programs; and

WHEREAS, In her capacity as general counsel and chief contracting
officer for New York State Technology Enterprise Corporation (NYSTEC),
Jana Behe provides engineering, technology and management consulting
services to various agencies throughout New York State and New York
City; and

WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Jana Behe has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Jana Behe has displayed over
the years; she has exhibited the true spirit of this esteemed award
through her tireless dedication to the YMCA and her community; and

WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to

Jana Behe, that future generations may know and appreciate her admirable
character, her many benevolent deeds, and the respect and esteem in
which she is held by her peers; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Jana Behe upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
Capital District YMCA President's Award on May 4, 2017; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Jana Behe.
