HONORING Trooper Daniel Eberly upon the occasion
of his designation as recipient of the Service Above
Self Award by the Victor-Farmington Rotary Club on
May 17, 2017

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
honor those distinguished officers and citizens who would devote
themselves to public service, demonstrating great courage and diligence
in providing for the care and welfare of the citizens of their
communities and this great Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Within every community of the State of New York there are
certain individuals who, by virtue of their commitment and dedication,
command the respect and admiration of their community for their
exemplary contributions and service on behalf of others; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and fully in accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Trooper Daniel Eberly upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of the Service Above Self Award by the Victor-Farmington Rotary Club to
be celebrated at a Dinner Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at Finn's Tap Room in
Victor, New York; and

WHEREAS, Rotary International is dedicated to the development of
fellowship and understanding among business and professional leaders,
the promotion of community-betterment endeavors and of high standards in
business and professional practices, and the advancement of
international understanding, goodwill and peace; and

WHEREAS, Each year the Victor-Farmington Rotary Club proudly
commends individuals who exemplify those principles; Trooper Daniel
Eberly truly merits such recognition; and

WHEREAS, New York State Trooper Daniel Eberly of Troop E is a
self-motivated patrol officer who consistently displays an enthusiastic
and optimistic attitude when he is working; and

WHEREAS, Trooper Daniel Eberly is actively involved in reducing
traffic accidents; this past year, he held the record out of all the
local troopers, for speed enforcement; and

WHEREAS, Throughout his tenure, Trooper Daniel Eberly has
continually demonstrated professional competency in handling many varied
situations which could confront a road patrol trooper; and

WHEREAS, Well-respected by his fellow officers, Trooper Daniel
Eberly is always available to lend a helping hand, and serves as a
positive role model for his peers; and

WHEREAS, Each and every day, Trooper Daniel Eberly arrives at work,
fully prepared to help his community and make a difference; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those
dedicated public servants who unselfishly devote their lives to the
preservation of order and the protection of others are worthy and due
full praise for their commitment and noble endeavors; now, therefore, be
it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Trooper Daniel Eberly upon the occasion of his designation as
recipient of the Service Above Self Award by the Victor-Farmington
Rotary Club on May 17, 2017; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Trooper Daniel Eberly.
