CONGRATULATING Alexis Daniels upon the occasion of
capturing the 2016 Outdoor NYSPHSAA Championship and
NYS Federation Championship in both shot put and
discus

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those young people within the State of New York who, by
achieving outstanding success in athletic competition, have inspired and
brought pride to their school and community; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Alexis Daniels upon the occasion of capturing the 2016
Outdoor NYSPHSAA Championship and NYS Federation Championship in both
shot put and discus; and

WHEREAS, In events such as shot put and discus, which require
steadfast dedication, long hours of training and unwavering
determination, Coach David Cody worked hard to hone the skills of this
champion, teaching her lessons which will prove invaluable both in and
out of the circle; and

WHEREAS, An exceptional athlete, Alexis Daniels is the most
decorated thrower, male or female, in Section IV history; currently, she
holds records in indoor shot put, indoor weight throw, outdoor shot put,
and outdoor discus; and

WHEREAS, Alexis Daniels is also the New York State junior record
holder of the indoor shot put at 48 feet, 8.25 inches, and the New York
State record holder of the outdoor shot put with an outstanding throw of
50 feet, 7.5 inches; and

WHEREAS, In addition to winning the 2016 Outdoor Championships,
Alexis Daniels is the 2015 and 2016 Indoor NYSPHSAA and NYS Federation
Champion in shot put, and the 2015 Outdoor NYSPHSAA Champion in shot
put; and

WHEREAS, Proudly donning the school's colors of red, blue and white,
family, friends, and the community at large loyally and enthusiastically
supported Alexis Daniels throughout her journey as she ended her season
with an impressive overall record; and

WHEREAS, In light of her recent accomplishments, Alexis Daniels has
brought honor and just pride to her school and community on the local,
State and National level; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Alexis Daniels upon the occasion of capturing the 2016
Outdoor NYSPHSAA Championship and NYS Federation Championship in both
shot put and discus; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Alexis Daniels.
