HONORING Dennis Money upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the Citizen of the Year
Award by the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce on
January 19, 2018
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
honor those distinguished citizens who would devote their life's work
and purpose to community service, contributing to the welfare of the
citizens of their communities and this great Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Dennis Money upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the
Citizen of the Year Award by the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce, to
be celebrated at its Annual Dinner Meeting on Friday, January 19, 2018,
at Club 86, Geneva, New York; and
WHEREAS, Dennis Money has been called upon to contribute his time
and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always
given of himself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, A tireless advocate for preserving and protecting the
wildlife in the Finger Lakes Region, Dennis Money is most renowned for
his efforts to save, protect and promote the famous White Deer of Seneca
County; and
WHEREAS, Steadfast in his mission, Dennis Money has helped garner
international media attention for the Finger Lakes Region and its White
Deer population; and
WHEREAS, Dennis Money was instrumental in the establishment of
Seneca White Deer, an organization which has worked to create an
economic development opportunity at the former Seneca Army Depot; and
WHEREAS, In 2017, after years of unwavering commitment, Dennis Money
brokered an agreement and secured significant funds to make the
once-distant dream of offering tours of the Depot and White Deer, a
reality; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Dennis Money has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Dennis Money has displayed
throughout his life; and
WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Dennis Money, that future generations may know and appreciate his
admirable character, his many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which he is held by his peers; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Dennis Money upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the Citizen of the Year Award by the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce
on January 19, 2018; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Dennis Money.
