HONORING the Clarence Toastmasters Club upon the
occasion of its designation as recipient of the
Organization of the Year Award by the Clarence
Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, The State of New York takes great pride in acknowledging
outstanding organizations which distinguish themselves in serving the
community and its residents, and which warrant special recognition; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
the Clarence Toastmasters Club upon the occasion of its designation as
recipient of the Organization of the Year Award by the Clarence Chamber
of Commerce, to be celebrated at its 46th Annual Awards Dinner on
Thursday, March 1, 2018, at Samuel's Grande Manor, Clarence, New York;
and

WHEREAS, Now in its seventh year, the Clarence Toastmasters Club is
a professional development organization which improves the public
speaking and meeting management skills of its members; and

WHEREAS, As a local chapter of Toastmasters International, the
club's mission is to help members find their voice, improve their
confidence when delivering presentations, leverage storytelling to teach
and motivate others, and grow as business and community leaders; and

WHEREAS, Toastmaster members contribute to a mutually-supportive
atmosphere in which constructive evaluations and private feedback
enhance their speaking abilities; and

WHEREAS, Furthermore, its members volunteer for a variety of roles,
including humorist, grammarian and table topics master, which expand
their Toastmaster knowledge as they work through manuals to earn public
speaking and leadership certifications; and

WHEREAS, The Clarence Toastmasters Club welcomes prospective members
who reside anywhere in Western New York to attend a meeting to
experience the activities that comprise a full one-hour agenda of
speeches, stories, words of inspiration and jokes; and

WHEREAS, Over its distinguished seven year history, the Clarence
Toastmasters Club has demonstrated continuous service to the residents
and communities which it serves; and

WHEREAS, The success of the Clarence Toastmasters Club is in direct
correlation to the efforts of its President, Melany Arrison, whose
involvement is, and always has been, characterized by an impressive
commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of
excellence in all endeavors on behalf of the organization and the
community it serves; and

WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents an opportunity for this
Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to the Clarence
Toastmasters Club; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals and organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be recognized and applauded by all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor the Clarence Toastmasters Club upon the occasion of its
designation as recipient of the Organization of the Year Award by the
Clarence Chamber of Commerce; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Melany Arrison, President, the Clarence Toastmasters
Club.
