HONORING Tyrone Muse upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the 2018 Distinguished
Citizen of the Year Award for Broome County by the
Boy Scouts of America on May 2, 2018

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
honor those distinguished citizens who would devote their life's work
and purpose to community service, contributing to the welfare of the
citizens of their communities and this great Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Tyrone Muse upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the
2018 Distinguished Citizen of the Year Award for Broome County by the
Boy Scouts of America, to be celebrated at a special event on Saturday,
May 2, 2018, at The McKinley in Endicott, New York, at Visions Federal
Credit Union; and

WHEREAS, A positive role model for all, Tyrone "Ty" Muse is
receiving this auspicious award for his demonstrated concern and
significant care for his community; and

WHEREAS, Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Tyrone Muse was raised in
North Carolina, and then Wallkill, New York; today, he and his family
live in Vestal, New York; and

WHEREAS, Tyrone Muse attended Northeastern University on a track
scholarship; after earning both his bachelor's and master's degrees in
accounting from the school, he became a licensed certified public
accountant; and

WHEREAS, Throughout his 20-year career, Tyrone Muse has been
employed at several financial institutions including
PricewaterhouseCoopers, Goldman Sachs' Archon Group, and GE Asset
Management; he was then recruited to work at Hudson Valley Federal
Credit Union, where he held the position of Chief Financial Officer; and

WHEREAS, Since 2012, Tyrone Muse has held the title of President and
CEO of Visions Federal Credit Union; in this capacity, he oversees a $4
billion financial institution, with 550 employees serving nearly 184,000
members in three states with its headquarters based in Endwell, New
York; and

WHEREAS, A devoted father and an enthusiastic sports fan, Tyrone
Muse is dedicated to helping the youth of his community; he sponsors a
free track program, and generously supports several local school
districts and colleges; and

WHEREAS, Tyrone Muse enjoys watching his oldest daughter play
basketball on the Vestal High School JV team, and his youngest daughter
play soccer; he also attends many Binghamton University basketball
games, and is an active member of the Jewish Community Center's Men's
Basketball League; and


WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, Crystal, and their
two daughters, Mya and Olivia, all of whom have shown him love and
support and rejoice in his many achievements; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Tyrone Muse upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the 2018 Distinguished Citizen of the Year Award for Broome County by
the Boy Scouts of America; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Tyrone Muse.
