HONORING Dr. Jim and Kay Morrissey upon the
occasion of their designation as recipients of the
J. Walter Juckett Community Service Award by the
Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made
significant contributions to the quality of life therein; and

WHEREAS, From time to time, this Legislative Body takes note of
certain extraordinary individuals it wishes to recognize for their
valued contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Dr. Jim and
Kay Morrissey upon the occasion of their designation as recipients of
the J. Walter Juckett Community Service Award by the Adirondack
Regional Chamber of Commerce to be celebrated at its Annual Event at the
Sagamore Resort on Saturday, March 3, 2018, in Bolton Landing, New York;
and

WHEREAS, This prestigious award is named after the late J. Walter
Juckett, who was a tremendous force in his community; Dr. Jim and Kay
Morrissey are truly deserving of this recognition; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Jim and Kay Morrissey of Glens Falls, New York, have
been called upon to contribute their time and talents to countless civic
and charitable endeavors and have always given of themselves
unstintingly; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Jim Morrissey proudly served his country as a member of
the United States Army; today, he is a founding member of Adirondack
Cardiology Associates and a well-respected physician practicing
part-time with Hudson Headwaters in Warrensburg, New York; and

WHEREAS, A man of many interests, Dr. Jim Morrissey has supported
numerous worthy organizations including WAIT House, Glens Falls Youth
Center, Wood Theater, St. Mary's Church, Glens Falls Hospital
Foundation, Crandall Library, Glens Falls School Board, Family Services
Association, Glens Falls Symphony, Glens Falls Family YMCA, and Hudson
Headwaters Charitable Foundation, as well as North Country Ministry; and

WHEREAS, Kay Morrissey has served on the WAIT House Board of
Directors, and played a vital role in supporting and encouraging her
husband's social and civic achievements over the years; together, this
humble and compassionate couple maintain a foundation for charitable
giving; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others, which Dr. Jim and Kay Morrissey
have displayed throughout their lives; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Dr. Jim and Kay Morrissey upon the occasion of their designation
as recipients of the J. Walter Juckett Community Service Award by the
Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Dr. Jim and Kay Morrissey.
