MEMORIALIZING Governor Andrew M. Cuomo to proclaim
April 1-April 7, 2018, as Masonry Construction Week
in the State of New York
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize
official weeks that are set aside to recognize the vital works of
individuals and organizations which substantially contribute to the
economic vitality of their communities and the entire Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
memorialize Governor Andrew M. Cuomo to proclaim April 1-April 7, 2018,
as Masonry Construction Week in the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, New York Masonry was formed as a group of masonry
contractors to promote the use of masonry; and
WHEREAS, With an emphasis on masonry being about craftsmanship, New
York Masonry provides resources for those who work in or are interested
in learning the masonry trade; and
WHEREAS, Throughout history we have relied heavily on the skills
masons contribute to the extraordinary architecture found across New
York State; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals and organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by
all the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
memorialize Governor Andrew M. Cuomo to proclaim April 1-April 7, 2018,
as Masonry Construction Week in the State of New York; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to The Honorable Andrew M. Cuomo, Governor of the State of
New York.
