HONORING Finger Lakes Textiles upon the occasion
of its designation as recipient of the 2018 Business
of the Year Award by the Seneca County Chamber of
Commerce on January 18, 2019
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize the
achievements of those individuals and businesses that contribute
substantially to the economic vitality of their communities, thereby
enhancing economic well-being of the entire Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Finger Lakes Textiles upon the occasion of its designation as recipient
of the 2018 Business of the Year Award by the Seneca County Chamber of
Commerce, to be celebrated at its Annual Dinner and Awards Ceremony on
Friday, January 18, 2019, at Club 86 in Geneva, New York; and
WHEREAS, Located in Waterloo, New York, Finger Lakes Textiles was
established in 1995, as an affiliate of Seneca Cayuga Arc; today, the
business has grown into one of the region's leading manufacturers; and
WHEREAS, Best known for its line of winter hats, Finger Lakes
Textiles produces 100% "Made in America" products; each month, the
company ships thousands of merchandise to customers all over the world;
the business is also a major producer for both the United States
military and the Department of Corrections; and
WHEREAS, To facilitate their substantial growth trajectory, a major
expansion is underway at Finger Lakes Textiles; in 2018, the company
started renovations on their facility which will provide more room for
production and warehousing as well as the purchase of a new digital
cutting machine to expand and enhance their product line; and
WHEREAS, In addition, the company launched "Arctic Gear", allowing
the business to commercialize its products to a much larger audience; a
promotional video featuring celebrity endorsements took the internet by
storm, going viral days after its launch; and
WHEREAS, Over its distinguished history, Finger Lakes Textiles has
demonstrated continuous service to the residents and communities which
it serves; and
WHEREAS, The success of Finger Lakes Textiles is in direct
correlation to the efforts of its hardworking and dedicated staff, whose
involvement is, and always has been, characterized by an impressive
commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of
excellence in all endeavors on behalf of the business and the community
it serves; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body
acknowledges this exceptional business, its contributions to the local
and state economies, and its vibrant role in improving the quality of
life in its community, fully confident that it will continue to enjoy
the sparkling successes it has experienced thus far; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Finger Lakes Textiles upon the occasion of its designation as
recipient of the 2018 Business of the Year Award by the Seneca County
Chamber of Commerce on January 18, 2019; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Finger Lakes Textiles.
