Senator Honored With John W. Conroy Award at 25th Annual March
Senator Ken LaValle (2nd from right) recently marched in the Riverhead Community Awareness Program’s (CAP) 25th Annual Say NO To Drugs March. Senator LaValle has been a long-time supporter of the CAP program and has participated in the parade since its inception. This year, Senator LaValle was honored with the John W. Conroy award in recognition of his advocacy and concern for educating children about the dangers of drug and alcohol use.
The CAP program is a non-profit community-based organization that teaches students to recognize peer pressure, build self-esteem, and equip them to make positive choices now and into adulthood. Senator LaValle marched with Ms. Bauman’s 6th grade Pulaski Street Elementary School class and the guest speaker, former NY Jets cornerback, Bobby Jackson (far right).
