South Brooklyn Census Committee Launches

March 1, 2010

We recently formed the South Brooklyn 2010 Census Committee (SBCC), a coalition of Elected Officials, religious leaders, community leaders, non-profits, and businesses committed to increasing participation in the 2010 Census, and we would like to formerly invite you to our kickoff event.

As many of you may know, over $400 billion in federal funds are directly allocated to communities each year based purely on census data.  The SBCC’s kickoff will help raise awareness of the Census so that response rates in our communities are as high as possible.

Our communities deserve their rightful share of the federal funds that will be distributed over the next decade.  Please join us at our kickoff event - and extend this invitation to your members, friends and neighbors - so that Southern Brooklyn’s 2010 Census turnout is as successful as it can be.
