Honoring our Military Servicemen on the 4th!

While attending the Fourth of July Bicentennial Parade In Mayville yesterday, Senator Catharine Young was presented a U.S. flag that was recently flown over the U.S. Capitol by Staff Sergeant Joseph C. Gullo, III of Brocton for her dedicated service to veterans.
Staff Sergeant Gullo was the first person from Chautauqua County to be s...ent overseas after the 9/11 attacks. During is military career, he served in multiple tours in Afghanistan and Iraq while with the 82nd Airborne Division and the 10th Mountain Division. He has also served with the Patriot Guard Riders in both New York and Pennsylvania. He is a recipient of the Combat Action Badge.

The Mayville Fourth of July Celebration has become a tradition in Chautauqua County and has gained recognition well beyond the county's borders. It not only pays homage to our forefathers and their fight for freedom, it also is an opportunity for all to celebrate their achievements.
