Senator Catharine Young is joined by officials from the Seneca Nation and other local and state representatives at a recent ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony to mark the grand re-opening of the replaced bridge at Center Street and Front Avenue in Salamanca. The previously unnamed bridge, referred to as the “Center Street Bridge” was newly named after the famed Seneca statesman Chief Cornplanter.
The new bridge includes areas for pedestrians, bicyclists and large vehicles. It also includes a fishing platform, landscaping, lighting, and
sidewalks.
