Senator Rivera and Assemblywoman Rivera visited Tracey Towers for a town hall meeting on Wednesday, May 25. Concerns regarding the state budget, cuts to social services and housing, both in terms of the expiration of tenant protections and the issue of rate hikes were voiced during the evening.
"I am pleased that I was able to hear directly from the tenants of Tracey Towers, but I am very concerned that residents are facing drastic rent hikes," said Senator Rivera. "Building residents expressed concern that rent hikes would leave dozens and dozens of families in the building with no option but to leave Tracey Towers or even have to leave the neighborhood."
This town hall meeting was the 4th meeting Senator Rivera hosted during the month of May to give residents of the 33rd Senate District an opportunity to address him directly with questions or express concerns. Senator Rivera will continue to hold town hall meetings after the legislative session comes to an end.
