During our Delta Day in the State Capital, we will host an array of distinguished speakers. Additionally, one of the most exciting parts of the day will be when members visit the offices of our respective representatives in the New York State Assembly and Senate. These visits are to be scheduled on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. has, since its founding at Howard University in 1913, inducted over 200,00 college educated predominantly African American women in 900 collegiate and alumnae chapters in the United States and abroad. Our members include such luminaries as the United States Surgeon General Regina Benjamin, Honorable Alexis M. Herman, Honorable MarshaL. Fudgea and civil rights pioneer Dr. Dorothy I. Height, to name a few, New York State has been home to many notable Deltas including the late United States Representative Shirley Chisolm, New York State Assembly Deputy Speaker Earlene Hooper, New York State Assemblywoman Annette Robinson, Queens Borough President Helen Marshall and the Honorable Jacqueline A. Berrien, Chair of the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
