Day Two
Thomas F. O'Mara
January 6, 2011
Governor Cuomo started us off on the right note in yesterday's State of the State message to begin New York's 234th legislative session, and I think the underlying theme of his speech came through loud and clear: it's going to be difficult, but it's never been more important.
I couldn't agree more, and I welcome our new governor's call to arms, here at the beginning, for the political cooperation it's going to take to produce meaningful action on property tax relief, private-sector job creation, Medicaid restructuring, mandate relief, and so many of the other key issues facing us.
It's an exciting time, a challenging era in government, and I'm glad to be getting down to work. Most of all, I can't encourage you enough to stay involved, remain interested in this government, and never hesitate to participate.
