Earth Day 2012 Poster Contest: District 55

James S. Alesi

April 17, 2012

Dear Students:

Thank you for your wonderful contributions to the New York State Senate’s Earth Day Poster Contest.  This year, we received many outstanding posters that exemplify the creativity of young people in our community.

Each of the entries displayed tremendous originality and vision, as well as obvious concern for the ecological future of our communities and our state.  I am proud of your work and that of your classmates, and I encourage you to continue to learn more about the serious challenges that face our environment.  By learning about the importance of reducing consumption, reusing what we can, and recycling when appropriate, you will help keep the Earth healthy and safe.

I would like to offer my wholehearted congratulations to everyone who participated in this year’s Earth Day Poster Contest.  I also want to say thank you to your family, and especially your teachers, whose dedication and involvement in this activity provided the encouragement for your creativity and participation.  Please accept my congratulations and best wishes as you complete your school year!

Sincerely,

Senator Jim Alesi
