Elizabeth Einstein

Elizabeth Einstein has proudly held the title of editor for almost 30 years of four weekly community newspapers: The Windsor Standard, The Country Courier, The Vestal Town Crier and The Independent Baptist Voice. In addition to her work as editor, Ms. Einstein has also been the production and graphic artist for the Broome County Pennysaver and The Auto Market. 

Always one to better herself, Ms. Einstein recently completed work for a Bachelors degree in cultural studies with an emphasis in community journalism with State University of New York Empire State College.

Aside from her work as an editor, Ms. Einstein is actively involved in her church, the First Baptist Church of Johnson City, where she counts it a privilege to be able to put her love of cooking and baking to use. In addition to providing treats for the parishioners, she enthusiastically teaches Sunday school classes and sings with the women’s ensemble. A dynamic member in her community, Ms. Einstein is also a member of the Conklin Fire Department and has completed the Scene Support Operations course and is an officer in the auxiliary. She is a long-time member of Conklin Kiwanis and serves on the Town of Conklin Zoning Board of Appeals and the Committee for the Susquehanna Valley Educational Fund, Inc.

For her dedication to her work and civic duty, Ms. Einstein has been honored as a New York Press Association Award Winner and the 2010 recipient of the Town of Conklin Community Service Award with her husband, Don. 

If you ask Ms. Einstein what she enjoys most about her job, she will tell you that she loves community journalism because of the people she meets and their wonderful stories. To her, it is a special privilege to be a recorder of history in the making.
