The Yonkers Police Athletic League (YPAL) can continue to pursue their mission to "provide athletic programs and an open gym for youths of Yonkers", thanks to the generosity of the Marty & Iris Walshin Foundation who recently renovated the boxing and training gym located in the Iris & Marty Walshin Center to commemorate its late founders, Marty and Iris Walshin. Senator Stewart-Cousins, along with Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano and NYS Athletic Commission Chairwoman Melvina Lathan, showed their appreciation for the Foundation's contribution to the betterment of the community and attended the Dedication Ceremony on Sunday, September 8th.
