Fayette- Senator Mike Nozzolio recently spoke at the Fayette Volunteer Fire Department’s annual banquet where he had the pleasure of presenting Charlie McCann with a special New York State Resolution in honor of his recognition as the recipient of the "2013 Lewis Sorrentino Firefighter of the Year" award. The award recognizes a member of the Fayette fire department who demonstrates exceptional leadership and dedication and who is actively involved with the Department. The award is named in honor of Senator Nozzolio's father-in-law, the late Lewis Sorrentino.  Lewis "Lewie" Sorrentino was the longest serving Fire Chief in the history of the Fayette Fire Department and he also served as the Fayette Postmaster for many years. Several family members, including Senator Nozzolio's wife, Rosemary Nozzolio, were on hand for the ceremony.
