Senator O'Brien welcomes student participation in Earth Day Poster Contest

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Senator O'Brien invites students throughout his district to participate in the Senate's annual Earth Day Poster Contest, a statewide competition that encourages student awareness of environmental issues.
Students in kindergarten through sixth grade are invited to design a poster featuring the theme of "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" and creative new ways to promote environmentalism to their classmates, friends and family members.
The winning posters will be featured on Senator O'Brien's official web site and all participants will receive a certificate thanking them for participating and demonstrating their commitment to the environment.
Posters are to be submitted electronically through the Senator’s website at obrien.nysenate.gov and will be accepted through April 5, 2013. For more information, contact the Senator’s district office at obrien@nysenate.gov or (585) 223-1800.

Senator O’Brien’s district includes students who live in the eastern half of the city of Rochester, Irondequoit, Penfield, Perinton, Pittsford, East Rochester, Rush, Mendon, Victor, East Bloomfield, West Bloomfield, Bristol, South Bristol, Canadice and Naples.
