Award: HONORING WOMEN IN NEW YORK

Year: 2014

Kristine B. Giotto has long been recognized for her energy and commitment to improving her community and the world around her. She has gained a reputation as a person whose daily generosity of heart, mind and hands-on contribution, has positively aff ected her New Hartford community.

Ms. Giotto wears many hats; in one of her roles she is a prominent fi gure in the not-for-profit community as a steadfast fundraiser and volunteer. Whether it is for regional causes such as the St. Elizabeth Medical Center Foundation in Utica, the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties – or for high-profi le causes such as the diagnosis, treatment and research of the degenerative neurological condition known as ALS – Ms. Giotto has made her mission to be actively involved.

As a businesswoman for almost 20 years, Ms. Giotto is the Director of Giotto Enterprises, an umbrella group that currently has nine distinct companies. These companies are involved in varied interests, from electronics manufacturing to real estate, delivering their products and services to 110 countries around the world. Founded by her husband, Frank, the group has grown to collectively employ 350 staff ers and bring in $75 million dollars in annual revenue.

Her numerous professional accomplishments did not start in the business world, however. After attaining a Bachelor of Science in History from State University of New York Oneonta and a Master’s degree from State University of New York Cortland, Ms. Giotto dedicated herself as an educator for ten years. She taught Government and Economics and fondly refers to the time spent teaching children in the Utica and Sauquoit Valley School districts as some of her most rewarding experiences.

Ms. Giotto and her husband of 29 years continue to make their home in Oneida County, in the Town of New Hartford. Together, they share their spacious farm home with 52 chickens, five horses, four peacocks, two goats and two cats. The Giotto’s brag that their five adult children and two grandkidare still the highest-quality products they have ever produced!
