Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins Announces $310,00 in State Aid Awarded To Renovate Public Libraries in the 35th District

(Yonkers – August 13th) Senator Stewart-Cousins is pleased to announce that five public libraries in her district have been awarded a total of $310,00 in state aid for facility renovations so they will continue to be a vibrant part of their communities. The funding will be allocated as follows:

  • New Rochelle Public Library: $95,252 to replace existing passenger elevator located in the main building with new unit
  • Dobbs Ferry Public Library: $25,591 to retrofit and replace light fixtures with energy-efficient, long-lasting LEDs
  • Greenburgh Public Library: $14,661 to install glass partition to divide rooms and alleviate noise issues
  • Hastings-on-Hudson Public Library: $19,107 to install heating/cooling system for expanded community rooms
  • Warner Library (Tarrytown): $155,589 to replace old roof and drainage system

This fund is part of the $14 million Capital Fund appropriation in the 2014-15 State Budget for the construction and renovation of public libraries and public library systems.
