Squadron Hosts Town Hall On MTA Buses
November 18, 2015
NEW YORK’S 26TH STATE SENATE DISTRICT – YESTERDAY, State Senator Daniel Squadron hosted nearly 100 community members at his Town Hall with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) to address ways to improve bus service in his district. The town hall came in response to concerns heard at Squadron’s annual Community Convention, held this past April. Public Advocate James, City Comptroller Stringer, Councilmember Chin, the Riders Alliance, and community leaders joined Squadron for the town hall.
"Buses are a lifeline for many, especially in transit underserved communities," said State Senator Daniel Squadron. "We heard some great ideas and some real problems at last night's town hall, and I look forward to working with the MTA on next steps. I thank the MTA, Public Advocate James, Comptroller Stringer, Councilmember Chin, Riders Alliance, colleagues, the Manny Cantor Center, and most importantly, the community members who attended and voiced their concerns."
Squadron will also host a Brooklyn Neighborhood Issues Town Hall on Wednesday, December 2nd, at 6:30pm at Brooklyn Law School to discuss issues including parks, healthcare, schools and overdevelopment.
