Honoring our Veterans
Senator Velmanette Montgomery
November 11, 2015
Veterans Day is always very special to me. I appreciate that our nation takes a day to recognize and honor the services provided by so many men and women over the years, many with their lives.
This year I was fortunate to be able to observe this solemn day in the company of fellow elected officials in a very impressive ceremony in Carroll Park, in Brooklyn. A drum corps and a flag corps presented colors at a memorial to the WWI veterans, and prayers and remembrances were offered for all our Service men and women, living and gone before us.
I was also able to present a Proclamation to one of our local veterans, Buddy Scotto. Buddy is a long time friend who has helped to shape Brooklyn in so many ways for many years, and I look forward to working with him for many more.
