Statement From Senate Democratic Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins On Nomination Of Rossana Rosado As New York Secretary Of State
February 3, 2016
“I applaud Rossana Rosado’s nomination to serve as New York’s next Secretary of State and commend Governor Cuomo on such a wise selection. Ms. Rosado has been a trailblazer throughout her career from her earning an Emmy in 1992 for producing of a series of Public Service Announcements featuring organizations that help children, to her accomplishment in being the first female editor-in-chief of El Diario in 1995, to her service assisting formerly incarcerated New Yorkers reintegrate into society. I was proud to recognize Rossana as a New York State Woman of Distinction in 2011, and continue to be impressed by this dedicated and inspired public servant.”
