Standing United Against Violence

In the early afternoon on Wednesday, March 2nd, a 91-year old and her neighbor faced a despicable attack. A resident of our community for more than four decades, a senior citizen, was choked and robbed at gunpoint – her neighbor similarly victimized. As fellow New Yorkers, we stand in solidarity – to offer our support, and to speak out against this awful crime.

Everyone deserves peace on our streets, and our senior citizens deserve freedom from a criminal attacker – an attacker with no sense of decency, no sense of respect for the lives our senior citizens have lived, no ability to honor his fellow neighbor – an attacker cruelly seeking to rob. We stand here today because we have a sense of decency, we honor the lives of our senior citizen neighbors, and we insist on safety for everyone in our community.
