Senator Bonacic Announces $75,000 Grant for the Town of Wallkill to Build Playground Equipment at Town Campground

(Middletown, NY)-Senator John J. Bonacic (R/C/I-Mt. Hope) is pleased to announce that he has secured a $75,000 grant for the Town of Wallkill to use towards building an ADA compliant playground on Korn’s Campground, located at 60 Meyer Road in the Town of Wallkill. Recently the Town Board voted to purchase the property with the goal of developing the land and offering a new recreational opportunity to its residents. There is a small playground located on the property now, but it is in disrepair, and not compliant with ADA requirements. This funding, secured through the State Municipal Grant program, will help the Town make improvements at the campground.
“I commend Supervisor Dan Depew and the Town Board for their commitment to providing their residents with recreational opportunities in this rural part of town,” said Senator Bonacic. “I have no doubt that once this project is finished, the taxpayers of Wallkill will benefit.”
“These grant funds will be used to complete playground improvements including a new ADA compliant playground which will be open to the public. We are grateful for Senator Bonacic’s continued support which has helped the Town keep to our commitment of preserving natural resources and open space for recreational use,” said Town of Wallkill Supervisor Dan Depew.
