Senator Bonacic Hosts Meeting Between DEC and Town of Denning Officials to Discuss Issues Surrounding Peekamoose Bluehole

(Middletown, NY)-Senator John J. Bonacic (R/C/I-Mt. Hope) brought together officials from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) and Town of Denning to discuss issues surrounding Peekamoose Bluehole, a popular swimming hole in the Town of Denning. During last summer, Peekamoose Bluehole was inundated with swimmers, causing overcrowding, and overuse issues. The purpose of yesterday’s meeting was to discuss ways the Town and the DEC could work together to ensure that the same problems do not persist this year. In attendance at the meeting were, Basil Seggos, Acting Commissioner at the DEC, Julie Tighe, Assistant Commissioner for Legislative Affairs at the DEC, Martin Brand, Regional Director, DEC Region 3, David Brooks, Town of Denning Supervisor, and Gregory Vurckio, Town of Denning Councilman.
