Justice for Tenants
Jesse Hamilton
November 13, 2017
Standing together we put Carnegie Management and all landlords on notice: our community will stand up for our rights and the rights of our neighbors. We will not permit tenants to be treated with contempt. That’s the only reasonable description of the horrifying circumstance Joy Noel faced - having just returned from medical treatment to find her home was no longer hers. I stand with her, the Flatbush Tenant Coalition, colleagues, community leaders, and advocates to say the rights of tenants will be vindicated.
Together, we will not be pushed out or pushed aside. We will not be sidelined or denied our day in court. And whether through the courts or in the legislature, we will continue to uphold all tenants’ rights.
