Statement from Senator O'Mara on Upstate Niagara's purchase of the Kraft-Heinz facility in Campbell, Steuben County

Campbell, N.Y., June 30—State Senator Tom O’Mara (R,C,I-Big Flats) released the following statement on today's announcement that Upstate Niagara has purchased the Kraft-Heinz (Polly-O) cheese factory in Campbell:

“This is positive news for many area workers and their families, dairy farmers, and the entire community of Campbell.  Nevertheless, it remains critical to keep working closely with the new ownership, Upstate Niagara, to maximize every available opportunity to ensure success, keep expanding the operation, and keep moving toward the ultimate goal of full production capacity and full reemployment.  The ongoing, all-out effort at the local, federal, and state levels has demonstrated a strong commitment to preserving the integral role this plant has long played in the community as an employer and a lifeline for so many community institutions.  This commitment must continue.”
