January 31, 2018
(Middletown, NY)- State Senator John J. Bonacic (R/C/I-Mt. Hope) is pleased to announce that the Town of Neversink has been awarded a $50,000 grant to assist with the resurfacing of the town pool. The grant was secured through the State and Municipal Facilities Program, funding for which was appropriated in the 2017-2018 State Budget.
The Neverinsk Town Pool has been open since the early 1970’s and has been a tremendous asset to the community, however it is in need of repair. The large pool needs to be resurfaced, examined for leaking pipes and repaired where needed. The “kiddie” pool has already been determined to have leaking pipes.
“I’m pleased to have been able to secure this grant for the Town of Neversink to assist with repairs to the town pool,” said Senator Bonacic. “The repairs made will ensure that residents can enjoy the pool for years to come. In addition it will save the town taxpayers money.”
Town of Neversink Supervisor Chris Mathews added, “As always I would like to thank Senator Bonacic for his tireless work on behalf of the people of the Town of Neversink. The funds from this SAM grant will allow us to repair our town pool, which is badly in need of resurfacing. This process will extend the life of the pool for many years and continue to bring enjoyment to the community.”
