New Senate Republican Leadership slate announced before the start of the 2021-2022 session

Albany, NY — Senator Andrew Lanza, who serves his Staten Island Senate district with passion and distinction as a member of the Senate Republican Conference, today was named Deputy Leader of the Conference.

“Senator Lanza is the perfect partner to lead our Senate Republican Conference forward. He is a seasoned prosecutor and will be a strong and articulate defender of our members’ values in the same way he has been for his constituents on Staten Island. He has consistently stood up for individual freedom, small business, our law enforcement, and against Bill de Blasio and his socialist allies. His dedication to the Senate Republican Conference and depth of experience will enable him to follow the commendable path of leadership forged by Senator Joe Griffo. I look forward to Senator Lanza and our entire leadership taking on their new roles, leading our conference to success, and providing New Yorkers with the representation that they deserve,” said Senate Republican Leader Rob Ortt.

“It is an honor to serve as the Senate Republican Deputy Leader during these challenging times. While arrogant and misguided policies have put our State in a downward spiral, I am confident that we can turn the tide and put New York back on track. Together with Senator Ortt and my fellow Senators, we will give a voice to the millions of New Yorkers who know that public safety, education, justice, and free-market economic opportunity for all is the pathway to a better life. We shall fight back government infringements upon the liberty of our citizens, and unleash the spirit and genius of our people to change the trajectory of New York ever upward,” said Deputy Leader Lanza.

Senate Republican Leader Rob Ortt also announced conference leadership positions and ranking members of committees for the 2021-2022 session.

“I look forward to working with all of my colleagues as they take on these roles, and together the Senate Republican Conference will work to help middle-class families, struggling small businesses, and taxpayers throughout this state,” said Leader Ortt.
