Angelica, N.Y., July 21—State Senator Tom O’Mara (R,C,I-Big Flats) will attend the annual meeting of the Allegany County Board of Legislators at the Allegany County Fair on Thursday.
Today’s meeting begins at 2:00 p.m. in the Mini Theater at the Allegany County Fairgrounds in Angelica.
It has become an annual tradition for the Board to hold a meeting at the county fair to offer fairgoers a chance to see government in action.
O’Mara said, “I look forward to having my Senate District include most of the eastern part of Allegany County and working together with the Board of Legislators and other local representatives, community leaders, and concerned citizens on so many of the goals we share for the county’s future. The Board’s annual meeting at the County Fair is a fantastic annual tradition and a great opportunity to see the Board in action and begin meeting more of the residents of Allegany County.”
The newly redrawn 58th Senate District that O’Mara will represent following the 2022 November elections will encompass all of Chemung, Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Tioga, and Yates counties, and a portion of Allegany County (the towns of Alfred, Almond, Amity, Andover, Birdsall, Burns, Grove, Independence, Scio, Ward, Wellsville, and Willing).
O’Mara currently serves as the Ranking Member on the Senate Finance Committee, and on the Senate Government Operations and Investigations Committee.
