Senator Palumbo to Host Coffee with a Cop and Shed the Meds Event at Riverhead Free Library on February 10, 2023 

Senator Anthony Palumbo (R,C- New Suffolk) will be hosting Coffee with a Cop and Shed the Meds prescription drug collection in cooperation with the Town of Riverhead Police Department. This event will take place on Friday, February 10, 2023 from 10:00am until 12:00pm at the Riverhead Free Library located at 330 Court Street in Riverhead, NY. 

Coffee with a Cop gives participants the opportunity to sit down with Senator Palumbo and local law enforcement in an informal setting to discuss the needs of our community and ask questions.  

Shed the Meds allows you to safely and anonymously dispose of expired or unwanted medications at this free and public event. All medications will be incinerated and can be brought in their original packaging. No liquids or sharps.  

“Coffee with a Cop and Shed the Meds are both great community outreach programs. This event will give residents the ability to interact with local law enforcement, ask questions and talk more in-depth about concerns, while also providing them with a safe way to dispose of unwanted or expired prescription drugs,” said Senator Palumbo. “I’m excited to combine these two programs for residents in and near Riverhead and look forward to the event.”

All medications brought for Shed the Meds will be incinerated so they can be brought to the event in their original packaging. The police department is not able to accept liquids or sharps at this event.
