Community Update: Bills Signed to Strenghten Democracy, In the Community, Upcoming Events
Senator Shelley B. Mayer
September 22, 2023
Dear Friends,
First, I send my condolences and prayers to the whole community of Farmingdale, Long Island, for the terrible bus accident this week. It’s hard to imagine that a vibrant marching band community, on the way to camp, would face such a devastating accident. I stand with all of that community - Daler Strong! I am deeply appreciative of the heroic work of the many first responders from all across New York State who responded so quickly.
My office has received a number of free COVID Tests and Masks. You can pick them up anytime between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. at my office, 235 Mamaroneck Avenue, White Plains, suite 400. Members of my staff will also have distribution events throughout the community. See below for more information on the dates, times, and locations.
Lastly, September 19 was National Voter Registration Day. Make sure your voice is heard, by registering to vote and then voting. If you are registering to vote in this year's election, the Westchester County Board of Elections must receive your paperwork by October 28 and if you are completing a change of address, the paperwork must be received by October 23. It is critical for the future of our democracy that you register to vote, and then use your voice by voting.
As always, if there is anything my office can assist you with, please email me at smayer@nysenate.gov or call (914) 934-5250.
Warm regards,
Shelley B. Mayer
NYS Senator
37th District
