Charles J. Fuschillo Jr.

Massapequa Park resident Edward Sinisgalli was presented with the New York State Conspicuous Service Cross today by Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) and Assemblyman Joseph S. Saladino (12th Assembly District) in honor of his distinguished service to our country during the Second World War.

"We owe a great deal of respect and admiration to the men and women who bravely fought to defend our country against tyranny and evil in the Second World War. Like all veterans, Mr. Sinisgalli made sacrifices in the name of liberty, and it is my privilege to commend him for his brave and distinguished service to our country," said Senator Fuschillo.

The Conspicuous Service Cross is offered by New York State to acknowledge recipients of various military honors or those who were prisoners of war, at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, directly participated in the D-day invasion of Normandy on June 6, 1944, or have been declared missing in action or killed in action by the Department of Defense.

As a member of the United States Navy, Mr. Sinisgalli served aboard the U.S.S. LST 508 and participated in the invasion of France on D-Day, June 6, 1944. In addition to the New York State Conspicuous Service Cross, Mr. Sinisgalli previously earned the American Campaign Medal and the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with one bronze star.
