Senator Fuschillo Obtains State Grant For Copiague Library
Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) announced today that he obtained $5,000 in state grant funding for the Copiague Memorial Public Library. The Library will use the funding to refurbish its children’s room.
"Reading is an extremely important part of a child’s development. The more that children read, the more their minds will grow and expand, which will benefit them throughout their lives," said Senator Fuschillo, a member of the Senate’s Education Committee. "Having an area in the library that is geared towards children will help them enjoy reading more and encourage them to read more often. I am very happy to assist the Copiague Library in this worthwhile project."
With this state grant funding, the Library will be able to refurbish their children’s room, which is already utilized by children throughout the community. The room will be repainted and redesigned into a more modern child friendly area, with a bright, colorful reading and play area for all children to enjoy.
"Senator Fuschillo continues to be a staunch supporter of Library Services," stated Alicja Feitzinger, Director of the Copiague Memorial Library. "His efforts on behalf of the Copiague Memorial Public Library are greatly appreciated and benefit the entire Library community."
