Senator Fuschillo Offers Free College Planning Information

Charles J. Fuschillo Jr.

Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) announced today that his office has free information available for families who are preparing to send their children to college. The "College Dream: A Guide for Parents" booklet offers detailed information about the SATs, financial planning for college, and navigating through the college selection and admission processes.

"A college education is one of the most important tools for success, and is something that all parents want to be able to provide to their children. However, filing admission applications, selecting a college, and then figuring out how to pay for it can often be very daunting and confusing," said Senator Fuschillo. "This booklet provides a lot of helpful information about how to get through the process successfully and send your child on to higher education."

The booklet is prepared by the College Board, whose sole mission is to connect students to college success and opportunity. Founded in 1900, the College Board is a nonprofit association whose membership is made up of more than 4,500 schools, colleges, universities, and educational organizations. Each year, the College Board serves over 3.5 million students and their parents, 23,000 high schools, and 3,500 colleges through major programs and services in college admissions, guidance, assessment, financial aid, enrollment, and teaching and learning. The College Board is also the official test maker for the SAT, the PSAT/NMSQT and the Advanced Placement Program examinations.

Residents who wish to obtain free copies of this booklet should call Senator Fuschillo’s office at 516-546-4100. Additional information about college preparation can be found by CLICKING HERE.
