Senator Fuschillo Secures Funding For Town Of Hempstead Improvement Projects In Merrick
Senator Charles J. Fuschillo (8th Senate District) joined with Town of Hempstead officials in announcing new improvement projects for the Merrick community. Senator Fuschillo obtained $150,000 in grant funding for the two projects.
The Town will use the grant funding to complete 2 new improvement projects. The first project will be a streetscape renewal project along Merrick Avenue. New decorative brickwork and street lighting will be installed along the east side of Merrick Avenue, between Miller Place and Loines Avenue. This will compliment similar improvements that were previously made along the west side of the street.
In addition, the Town will also be installing new brickwork at Broadcast Plaza, which is located on Fisher Avenue across from the gazebo.
"These improvement projects will help enhance the beauty of the area and improve the quality of life for our residents. By making the area more attractive, we will also encourage more people to visit the neighborhood, which will greatly assist our local businesses," said Senator Fuschillo. "I was pleased to help the Town of Hempstead bring this valuable improvement project to our residents."
