Senator Farley Announces Amsterdam, Gloversville To Receive Bus Funding
State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R,C - Schenectady) joins Governor George E. Pataki in announcing the cities of Amsterdam and Gloversville, and the County of Montgomery, will receive funding for new buses through the Federal Transit Administration Section 5311 Program.
"This is great news," Senator Farley said. "This funding is for public transportation needs and it is vital that our Nation's smaller cities and rural communities have access to public funding."
The City of Amsterdam is slated to receive $319,840 for two buses, bus shelters and the rehabilitation of the maintenance garage. In addition, Montgomery County was awarded $84,000 for one bus.
The City of Gloversville is slated to receive $412,000 for three buses and maintenance equipment.
