Senator Farley Announces Canajoharie, Princetown To Receive Small Cities Grants
State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R,C - Schenectady) joins Governor George E. Pataki in announcing the Village of Canajoharie, Montgomery County, and the Town of Princetown, Schenectady County, were awarded $275,000 and $400,000, respectively, through the Small Cities Community Development Program.
"This is terrific news," Senator Farley said. "The development program invests in our local communities and the return on the investment is a greater quality of life, improved downtowns and a renewed pride in our upstate living."
The funding for the Village of Canajoharie will be used in that municipality's ongoing efforts to refurbish the downtown's storefronts and improve building facades.
The Town of Princetown was awarded the grant to improve its public water system by extending lines to the Hamlet of Giffords Corners, installing fire hydrants and erecting a new water storage tank.
