Senator Farley Announces State Disaster Emergency In Montgomery, Schenectady Counties
State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R,C - Schenectady) joins Governor George E. Pataki in announcing 14 counties, including Montgomery and Schenectady counties, are declared a State Disaster Emergency.
"Mother Nature let the flood gates open last weekend," Senator Farley said, commenting on the continual rains over the past weekend. "And as a result, Montgomery and Schenectady counties were hit with massive flooding. Officials from the State Emergency Management Office and the Federal Emergency Management Agency are either in, or heading to, the flooded areas to assess the damage and to assist local governments with the damage."
