Senator Farley Salutes The Mair Sisters At Senate West Point Recognition Day
State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R,C - Schenectady) recently saluted Marjana and Heba Mair at the New York State Senate's Recognition of West Point Day at the Capitol in Albany on April 6th.
"These two women are great role models for their peers," Senator Farley said. "They are extremely talented and bright individuals. I had the great pleasure of introducing the sisters to my colleagues at the distinguished event we had at the Senate Chamber."
Cadet Cpl. Marjana Mair, Class of 2007, and Cadet Pvt. Heba Mair, Class of 2008, are alumni of Mohanasen Central School District in Schenectady County. They both currently are on the West Point Women's Track and Field team. Cadet Cpl. Mair has been awarded the National Defense Service Medal and her extracurricular activities include participating in the Gospel Choir. Cadet Pvt. Mair participated in the 2004 USMAPS Variety Show and her hobbies include playing tennis.
"I cannot think of better representatives of the Capital Region than these two women," Senator Farley said. "I am terribly proud of their accomplishments and to be their State representative."
